3 Day Athlete Performance Pathways programme The Athlete Performance Pathways Programme has been created specifically to provide managers with the tools and techniques for managing high performance pathways and athlete support effectively. The programme provides intensive industry training, ensuring executives and managers can develop strategic management techniques specific to; Talent identification; Development; and Presentation.

Aims and Objectives; The University of Manchester's proven learning techniques of applying group project work to build relevance and apply what has been delivered by presenters in a real life situation is implemented during personal and group project work phases of the programme. The key objective of the group project phase of the programme is to apply learning outcomes immediately, develop interpersonal skills, enhance networking opportunities, and address key industry issues. Outcomes; At the conclusion of the programme, participants will have developed an understanding of and be equipped with tools for: - The high performance environment; - Improved ability to take a planned and systematic approach to athlete performance pathway management; - Different high performance structures operating in the sector for Olympic and non-Olympic sports; - Effective strategies for improving sport performance; - The importance of key support structures in the performance pathway; and - Effective management of support structures in the performance pathway. Participants will receive an Executive Certificate in Sport and Major Events awarded by the World Academy of Sport. Example attendees; The programme is typically suitable for Performance Directors and managers with a demonstrated management background in high performance management including: - High performance directors;
- Athlete support service suppliers;
- Regional, state, national or international rugby organisations;
- Professional sporting entities;
- Community and voluntary groups;
- Government and support agencies; and
- Consultants and suppliers to the sector.
